GREAT NEWS! The WINNERS for Circuit 1 are officially announced! Remember, each category has two winners: one "judged" as the winner by two or more of the anonymous judges here at Booyah, and another "voted" as the winner through the polling we had going on. There are two ways for you to see the winners:

1. Go to this page to view all the nominees and winners of each category.

2. Go to the new "Winners" page to see the graphics album that displays all of the awesome awards.

I hope you all have the sense of humor that it takes to appreciate the greatness of these awards. Don't lie; you know they are awesome.

Hey everyone! You haven't heard from us in a while, but there is a good (read: lame) reason why. Every time we attempted to get onto Freewebs, the login page was being idiotic, and then we became angry and stormed away from the computers in a raging fury. You understand, right? Yeah, whatever.

So I've closed down the polls for voting now, and I'm going to start tallying the votes. Overall, I must admit that I was kind of disappointed in the turnout, especially in certain categories. But, it's the first circuit, right? We have to start somewhere. So thank you to everyone who tried to make this site possible! Hopefully we can keep it going and get a better turnout in the future circuits!

I'm going to make up the winners pictures now and get those posted on the site as soon as possible. When I have all of that ready, you will finally know the winners! BOOYAH!

And I think everyone (with a great sense of humor) will really enjoy the special prizes! Heh heh heh...

UPDATE: Anyone else having trouble loading the pages? If you are, then you probably can't even read this message. I don't know what the deal is, but I'm having issues with freewebs in general right now. Erg. Keep trying.

Oh, and I plan to keep voting for Circuit 1 going until, say, the 28th of March? Is that enough time for everyone? Good.

Hey all! I just wanted to give you a heads-up that nominations for circuit 1 will be cut off as of Wednesday, March 4, around 7pm (Eastern Standard Time, 6 Central, 4 Pacific). I will have all the nominations posted by Friday, March 6 when we will begin the voting process that you all will get to participate in!

Also, there seemed to be a little confusion/misunderstanding about the "best random moment" category, so I (again) updated the requirements on the Categories page. Just to clarify, it's not for "nonsense" found in stories! It's for a moment that you enjoyed in a story, for whatever reason that you personally may have. Think of it as "most creative" or "most well-written" if you will. But there's so set requirement for what it has to include. That's up to you. And I need lots more of those!

FP is still being a complete idiot, and I can't sign in to send out the PMs to inform the nominees that they are nominated. But I updated the nomination list again with some new noms that have come in (thank you!). I still have about 13 more empty spots, so check those out and then send me some stories! It's actually a lot of fun looking through all of these.

Also, I updated the Arbitrary Rules page with some clarafication on how I do the nomination selection (arbitrary, remember? But then again, not really. I'm not a complete airhead) and some general guidelines I've been following when selecting all of these awesome nominees.

Lastly, I was kind of hoping to end the nominations by this weekend... hint hint. But it can be extended if all the spots don't get filled by then. I'm very flexible (see photo of me at the top of the page.... Hah! Kidding. Lame).

Did everyone die or something? A couple of weeks ago, I had a tidal wave of emails coming in with nominations, and then they just stopped. What happened?

So I still need nominations for the following categories: Best Drunken Party Scene (I know they're out there, and you do too! So send them to me!), Best Character Description, Best Review, Best Tearjerker Scene, and Best Random Moment. Remember, for the random moment, there doesn't even have to be any logic in your nomination. Just nominate something that you like! I don't care!

Anyway, now FP is being stupid and I can't log in to send out the nofications to the new nominees. So if you see your friend's name on the Nominations list, let them know (if you have their email and can get to them more quickly than I can through FP).

Check the category page. If you have ever looked at this page thoroughly before, you will notice a change. The "Best Author's Note" category has disappeared. It's been replaced!

The new category is now "Best Random Moment" for a moment of randomness that you might find within a story. So, now you can forget about searching for good author's notes and start searching for completely random stuff.

Thank you so much for the nominations that I have receieved in the past 24 hours! They have really boosted the direction of the site. I'm thrilled to see that other people have a sense of humor much like my own, and the nominees have been fantastic (seriously, not even being sarcastic this time). I can't stop giggling. Oh wait... that's completely irrelevant.

Anyway, the reason for this message is to let you know that I will be posting some nominees very soon (as soon as I can get through them all and pick out the ones I want to accept). But most importantly... "Best Fight Scene" and "Best Location Description Scene" are (there's been a recall, Best Location Description is still kind of up for grabs, so I could go for some more of those... apparently I can't read and count and type at the same time) is no longer available for nomination. Yeah, I'm being a complete jerk and cutting them off early. No, really, it's because I already have a ton, and I know I will find my nominees there.

Hey, just imagine, you might be one of them! Look for my PM through FP to let you know if you've been nominated!

EDIT: Some nominees have been posted for the world to see! Don't worry, that's not all I have right now! I have a ton more that I have looked through and are actually accepted, I just haven't put them up yet. Let me know if any links or whatnot are being screwy. It's very likely, as I am often an idiot and have no idea what's going on in life.

Okay, people? Anyone out there?

So I've had a grand total of ONE person send me nominations (and quite a few at that! Thanks to you, ONE person), and considering that this person wanted to remain anonymous, I haven't posted any of the noms yets (you know, so it's not so obvious who that person is). So...

It would be really helpful if other people would send in more nominations as well. Then I could post a lot of stuff on the site! And then more people could know about it! And it will just be endless fun (I exaggerate here). Also, I am thinking of changing/adding some categories. Like maybe a "Recognize Me!" category... where a story is nominated just because you want it to be.

Let me know what you think. And send in nominations! And tell all your friends/readers/reviewers/reviewees and community buddies about us.
